Xeomin is used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines. It is a medicine that is injected into the muscles and limits the movement of those muscles for a short period of time.
Xeomin has the nickname, “naked Botox”. This is due to the fact that it contains the same active ingredient as Botox without the additives that are found in Botox or similar products. There is some consideration that the added protein in Botox can make it less effective over time.
Xeomin works like the other products that use botulinum toxin A. It is injected into the muscles in the area that has or could produce wrinkles or fine lines. Xeomin is most often used on the lines that form between the eyebrows. It can be used in any of the places that Botox is used, such as crow’s feet, laugh lines, and others.
Xeomin is used, primarily on dynamic wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles are the wrinkles that are created when we express emotions. You will see them when you laugh, cry, frown, smile or when you are deep in thought. Once you relax, you no longer see the lines that were there before. Over time, however, these lines can become permanent and leave the wrinkles that we call frown lines. forehead wrinkles, smile lines, and crow’s feet. These are the areas that Xeomin works the best on reducing.
Xeomin can be used almost anywhere that you are experiencing issues caused by hyperactive muscles. While the four areas listed above are the most common, it can be used in many other areas, such as under the eyes, above the lip, around the corners of the mouth, and around the nose.
The Xeomin procedure is quite straightforward; it can take as little as 10 to 15 minutes to do. Your specialist will numb the area that you are treating with a numbing cream or other topical treatment. You will feel a slight prick from the needle or needles. This will be dependent on the size of the area that you are treating. After these are done, you can go on your way.
After you have had the injections, it is recommended that you keep your hands off of your face for at least 3 hours. Avoid lying down or participating in any vigorous activity for about 4 to 6 hours. This will allow the Xeomin to remain in the area that is treated and not affect areas that are not meant to be treated.
It can take as much as a week for the full results to show. This is a little quicker than what you will see with Botox. Your results should last about 2 to 3 months. Sometimes the results can last longer.
Xeomin is designed for adults who want to look a little younger by reducing fine lines and wrinkles on their faces.
If you are not interested in cosmetic surgery, Xeomin can move you toward your beauty goals with a minimally invasive procedure.
If you are realistic about what to expect from Xeomin injections, you are a good candidate. It can reduce the look of aging that comes with lines and wrinkles, but it won’t make you like a teenager. The change will be more subtle.
If you are looking to slow the progression of fine lines and wrinkles, then this can work well for you. Using Xeomin as a preventative measure against aging can be beneficial.
If you have developed a resistance to Botox, you may be a good candidate. This could be a good change for your cosmetic routine.
